Kourin Ni Tensai Chapter 6: The Sapphire Hunter

Chapter 6: The Sapphire Hunter

It was late day now as Ushio sat in his bed in a white T-shirt and black boxer, staring at his cell phone and wondering what he could do. Since he learned about Nobuki he had lost all will to get out of bed, and left Asano confused when she sat off for her date. It was she he was worried about, her, the headstrong girl he had known since grade school that he couldn’t possibly tell about the untouchable boy. He knew that it was important, and that it was what the response to his text was asking about when it said “What next?” and yet he sat there bemused, and a little disgusted by the late day. “What next?” It sounded like such a patronizing question when he said it in his head, and it felt more condescending than that when he said it out loud, but he knew that was because he didn’t know what do. Even if a magical way presented itself; even if some mystical arm gave him a blessed touch that’d actually allow him to harm Nobuki, he knew that the lad was untouchable in more ways than one. “What next?” he asked himself as he considered that, and as he pondered responding to the text he realized there was only one thing he could do.

Nuut Wereld Chapter 6: The Diamond and the Many

Chapter 6: The Diamond and the Many

As Kiara woke up, she was bombarded by a number of things in sequence that made her wince, and let out a muttered scream. The first was the pain from her previous battle, falling unto her and every waking nerve with a sniper’s accuracy. It had made her hold herself, and squeeze her arms tight, pushing her to the point of screaming, where the next thing hit her with extreme force. It was unfamiliarity with her surroundings, the beige wood of floors walls and tables, and the white linen draped over her form. For a moment it had made her look around, when the pain came again, and once more she was about to scream, when fear held her back. Not only was she in an unfamiliar room, but she was in extreme pain as well and she knew that all it’d take was a scream for whoever saved her to be upon her. Sure, there was a chance that they were a kind person, an innocent passerby who saw her battered and bruised and decided to take her to a place where she could recover, but the fact that she wasn’t in a hospital told her those chances were low. She had to find her cell phone and call someone for help, but as if to further the chances she couldn’t even find its clip and wondered what she could do. Suddenly the doorknob began to twist, and despite the pain, that tortured her she found her pendant under her tattered black shirt, and prepared to protect herself from whoever entered the room. To her surprise, it was a raspberry-blonde in a long white dress, whose eyes went wide as she saw the volatile Kiara, and placed a tray of medical equipment on a desk. Kiara was still ready to blow her away when the pain hit her tenfold, and she fell onto the bed and let out a shriek, right as the woman ran to her side.

Tengoku Senshi Chapter 6: Angel's Dance

Chapter 6: Angel’s Dance

When he had heard the crackle of fire, Takeshi knew he should have realized something was up, but a while without sleep had caught up to him and made him lie back down. In the end, he regretted his decision as he looked down to the manacles that bound his hands, and thought back to a tearful evening when he was taken away before. This was just a part of the routine; he knew that he and Lloyd - who stood behind him - would be taken to where the forces set up camp, and after sifting through them, Lloyd would likely be killed. What had once been the things that’d tell people he was from another country, would be the things that marked him for death and as Lloyd silently trailed behind, Takeshi wonder if he could save him from that fate. In front of their line, a woman in a black form-fitting outfit called out orders, and to the side and back, a number of bandits stood armed. This was definitely not their first attack, as many stood with watchful eyes, holding their blades tight while watching for an unnecessary moves. They were careful as they guarded the line, but hadn’t noticed that Takeshi had tested the strength of the cuff, and although he knew he could break free, he wondered if that would make a difference. What he needed was a distraction, one that none of the captured men would give and as the school came into sight, he wondered if anyone could give it. Suddenly an arrow flew down and lodged into the back of a bandit, throwing him to the ground and calling his allies’ eyes up. In the spotlight of the moon, a girl stood on the midnight’s stage, holding a glowing bow in her left hand and pulling its string back with her right. She had the high ground as she looked onto the men from a roof, and it was clear in her green eyes, that that was all she needed.
