Kourin Ni Tensai Chapter 8: Multiple Factions

Chapter 8: Multiple Factions

Things had not turned out how Masaru first expected they would, when the two Prospect agents had come to his house and told him what their business in Asabi was. Instead of having two shadows always looming over him, always watching for danger despite the countless amounts of fights he’d get into, they instead sat around his coffee table while he stood in the kitchen. It had been a few days now, and while they didn’t accomplish a lot toward their goals, they had gained miles in social achievements as they occasionally dropped by for planning and food. Things had not turned out as Masaru had expected they would in any way or form. Rin had revealed that she was a negative and that she had been protecting him in secret, being the shadow that he expected the duo to be, and despite thinking he’d lose out to Ushio, it seemed Kouta and Asano had become more than just friends. It was a nice sight, seeing them all together, it was a nice thought to walk into the apartment and see what looked like just a bunch of friends. So many things about the scene that played in front of him looked so nice from where he stood slicing vegetables in the kitchen, but the sight, that sight, looked like it had no way of lasting long.

Nuut Wereld Chapter 14: In The Crosshair of a Hunter

Chapter 14: In the Crosshair of a Hunter

Smoke and force had flooded into the room as the explosion rocked the building, and the girls who were in the throes of a personal conversation were thrown to the ground with glass and debris. For the first time, probably because her ears were ringing and the fall had her dazed, Kiara thought about Nuut Wereld’s lighting and realized it was luminescent crystals that lit the room up. One was lying on the floor just a little ways away from her now, and it seemed to be the only thing she could see, as any and every other thing that entered the room, was lost in a cloud of smoke. She could only see their silhouettes, but she knew that some things did enter, and now they were standing at the broken sill, looking out into the vast night sky. Still dazed, she wondered how they could see through the smoke, and still dazed she rose, realizing that she had to blow it away. Taking her pendant in hand, Kiara quickly conjured a breeze and swung her hand just once to blow it away, before her body fell forward, and into Keigo’s arms.

Tengoku Senshi Chapter 13: A New Objective

Chapter 13: A New Objective

As if sirens, seagulls cawed as they circled around the dock. The smell of the ocean was in the air, but subdued by the smell of freshly delivered fish. Around the stone pier, cargo and people moved to and from the many great and anchored vessels that rested in the gentle waves, and with new clothes not ravaged by the rage of battle, Sakuya and the others sat around a fountain as they waited for a boat to arrive. The trio was still a bit surprised about what their leader suggested, and the deliberation on how they’d accomplished that, did nothing to ease their disbelief. It would be hard, and more dangerous than even the Town Stealer himself, but for that reason it was the best course of action, and for that reason, it scared them all more than a little bit.
